What it reads
The PDF links you give it in the run input, or the one PDF you upload in the Apify Console. An uploaded file is kept in your Apify account's storage, like any other Apify input.
Scanned pages are read by text recognition built into the tool, inside your run. No page is sent to another service.
Where your data goes
The tool runs in your own Apify account, and its runs, results and storage stay there.
Pankovs runs no server of its own for this tool and keeps nothing you process.
